The software is free to download and install. REX Accounts runs as a full trial for 60 days with a trial key sent by email; Paperworks and Visio2DXF have no trial: they are licensed to one named user and ask for your name and licence key the first time they run. Nothing is uploaded from your machine, ever.

What changed on 14 October 2026: REX Paperworks and REX Visio2DXF are licensed to one named user (no trial). Your key is emailed when you buy and is made for your name, not for a computer; the program shows who it is licensed to at the bottom of its window and on its About page. REX Accounts 1.4.2 keeps its company-name licence and 60-day trial, with the licence agreement updated to version 1.4. Earlier in October: REX Accounts added multi-currency, the Other tax region, customer statements, job costing, stock price levels, payroll recording and year-end export. A SHA-256 checksum lets you confirm a download is the genuine file: on Windows run certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256, on a Mac shasum -a 256 <file>.

Installing

Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)

Installer (recommended): run the Setup.exe, click through, and you get a Start-menu entry, a Desktop shortcut and an Uninstall entry in Windows Settings. Accounts and Paperworks install for your user only (no admin needed); Visio2DXF asks for admin because it also sets up the free LibreOffice engine for legacy .vsd files. Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC" the first time: click More info, then Run anyway.

Portable zip: right-click the zip, Extract All, open the folder and double-click the REX … .exe (or Create shortcuts.cmd once for shortcuts). Nothing is installed; delete the folder to remove it.

macOS 11 or later, Apple silicon (M1 or newer)

Double-click the zip, then drag the REX … .app into your Applications folder. The first time, macOS may say the app is from an unidentified developer: right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. After that it opens normally. To uninstall, drag it to the Bin.

Activating

REX Accounts: tick the licence agreement, enter the company name exactly as in your trial or purchase email, then the key. When you buy after a trial, enter the purchased key under Settings, Licence, and carry on.
Paperworks and Visio2DXF (one named user, no trial): your key arrives by email when you buy. In the program enter your name exactly as it appears in that email (and your company if you want it shown), then the key. Activation is offline. Keep the email: to reinstall, or to use a second computer of your own, you need the same name and key.

Optional extras

Paperworks OCR (making scanned PDFs searchable) is built in on Windows; on macOS install the free Tesseract engine. Visio2DXF converts legacy .vsd files with the free LibreOffice; modern .vsdx files need nothing else.
